Manufactured Home Permits

Placement of manufactured homes requires a special placement permit that can be obtained from the Building Safety Division in the City of Yuma Department of Community Development. The following conditions must normally be met to obtain a manufactured home placement permit:

  • The proposed site must be zoned as a manufactured home placement.
  • Minimum lot size and other zoning requirements must also be followed including sound attenuation measures if located in a 65 to 70db noise zone.
  • All manufactured homes placed in the City of Yuma limits must not be older than 1985 model year and if set above ground must be skirted, some zoning districts do not permit above ground sets.
  • In addition, manufactured homes are required to be tied down due to our seismic zone.

A complete set of plans must be approved by the City of Yuma Department of Community Development prior to the placement of the home and all inspections should be conducted and approved prior to occupancy of the home. Only one manufactured home will be permitted on an individual pad site. All manufactured home permits have a standard fee set by the state office of manufactured housing.
