Ride-Along Program

The Citizen Ride-A-Long Program is a courtesy extended to the public by the City of Yuma Police Department.

Citizens desiring to participate must obtain a waiver form from the City of Yuma Police Department. The form must be completed and signed in the presence of City of Yuma Police Department personnel. Identification will be required. If the applicant is married, the spouse must also sign the waiver form.

The waiver form must be completed at least 3 days prior to the Ride-A-Long. Prior to submitting the waiver form to the City of Yuma Police Department Field Services Division, the applicant will undergo a record check. If the applicant is cleared from any misdemeanor for the preceding 6 months, the waiver form may be approved. A felony conviction will eliminate the applicant from the program unless otherwise approved by a City of Yuma Police Department Division Commander.

The requested date may be scheduled. If the requested date is unavailable, the citizen will be notified and may reschedule another date.
